General

Installs, diagnoses, repairs, and performs routine maintenance on our veterans' and private client's equipment, and VA (Veterans Administration) owned assets. Performs Home modifications and improvements. Including but not limited to: Stairlifts, chairlifts, ramps.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Always provides high level of customer service.

· Repairs all products and equipment. Completes onsite service and safety assessments at pre-arranged appointments. Performs helpful home modifications and improvements to assist with daily living.

· Instructs patients on proper use and care of equipment.

· Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs/adjusts and provides routine maintenance for stairlifts, vehicle lifts, porch lifts, and ramps.

Qualifications

Mechanical and situational problem solving abilities

Experience and hand skills with a variety of hand/power tools

Strong mechanical aptitude and capabilities

Personal and professional behaviors in alignment with HAO core values

Education

· Graduate from an accredited High School, or equivalent.

Experience and Knowledge

· Prior home health care experience preferred

· Previous technical and/or production experience required.

· Basic computer skills and knowledge.

· Ability to load/unload/maneuver heavy items regularly

· Possess good Communication Skills

· Reads and speaks English fluently

· Responsible and Cooperative Attitude

· Neat and clean personal appearance

· Prior carpentry experience (Preferred)

· Prior auto tech experience (Preferred)

· Knowledge of basic hand and power tools (required)

Safety/Compliance

· “Clean” driving record - no points on license

· Submit to and pass criminal background check

· Must comply with all applicable OSHA safety regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be in healthy physical condition for transferring, loading, and unloading equipment from a van and into a veteran’s home or facility.
